Dina Dwyer-Owens is chairwoman and CEO of The Dwyer Group®. Since being appointed CEO in 1999, Dina has inspired her corporate team and franchisees to take The Dwyer Group to new levels of prosperity. She encourages the pursuit of professional and personal growth while maintaining a strong commitment to The Dwyer Group's Code of Values as a foundation for success in business and in life.
Since 1981 Dina has been involved in franchising and has represented The Dwyer Group admirably in many different capacities. She served as president from 1999-2007 and has been a member of the board of directors since 1989. In March 2007, she was appointed chairwoman of the board.
Dina is also active with the International Franchise Association (IFA) and currently serves as the 2009-2010 Chairwoman of the IFA, the world’s oldest and largest organization representing franchising. In 2001 she relaunched the VetFran program with the help of the IFA and served as chair of the VetFran committee for several years, encouraging franchisors across the nation to offer financial discounts to honorably discharged veterans so that they may own their own franchise business. Today, more than 1,300 veterans have purchased a franchise through the program.
In 2002, Dina was honored with the IFA's Bonny LeVine Award. She also received Working Mother magazine’s “Raising A Ruckus” national award in 2003 for advancing the lives of women. Under her guidance, The Dwyer Group has been named to Fortune Magazine's Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies in America, and each of The Dwyer Group's subsidiary companies has been named to Entrepreneur magazine's Franchise 500 in each of the last four years.
As CEO, Dina's responsibilities focus on strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and development of corporate culture and team building.
